Teaming with close to 30 Joburg-based tourism industry stakeholders who have generously sponsored fabulous prizes, and in collaboration with Kaya FM as a media partner, the next phase of the fun “Jozi, Discover Your Own Backyard Campaign” takes to the air and cyberspace this week.

“Initially launched by Joburg Tourism in September last year, this is a tourism awareness campaign to educate Joburg locals about the fabulous vibrancy and diversity of their city, encouraging them to explore and immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of Joburg, becoming knowledgeable ambassadors in so doing,” explains Phelisa Mangcu, Acting CEO, Joburg Tourism.

HOW IT WORKS

Locals are invited to share their favorite, authentic Joburg experiences via the Joburg Tourism Facebook page:

They can also test their knowledge of Joburg by entering the quiz on Joburg Tourism website’s Facebook page. The Mo-Gee Show on Friday afternoons forms a pivotal part of the campaign, as it will be broadcast from various iconic locations (“hidden gems”) throughout the city, starting on March 15, every Friday afternoon for 6 weeks.

Entrants for the competition (including both quiz entrants, as well as those who have submitted their favorite Joburg experiences) will be encouraged to tune into the Mo-G Show every Friday afternoon (from 1500-1800 hours), to find out if they are winners.
