LONDON, England – Pegasus Airlines has made the shortlist of companies nominated for Best Website at the 8th annual Budgies Awards, part of the forthcoming World Low Cost Airlines Congress on 19-21 September 2011.

Mr. Sertac Haybat, CEO and Member of the Board for Pegasus Airlines, will also be talking by special invitation at the forthcoming World Low Cost Airlines Congress being held at the Sofitel London Heathrow Hotel. Haybat will make a special appearance on Wednesday 21 September on Day 2 Plenary Session at 10am to explain to an audience from around the world: “How has Pegasus Airlines successfully adopted the low-cost model in a crowded marketplace?” including special insight on choosing the best ancillary strategy, building a loyal customer base and streamlining operations to lower costs.

Pegasus Airlines was the first airline to launch a full low-cost model service in Turkey and has now become the fastest growing airline in Turkey. It expanded the number of its customers 4.5-fold in just 5 years and last year alone flew 8.6 million guests. It flies to 49 destinations in 22 countries including its latest new international destinations of Pristina in Kosovo, launching 17 October, Skopje in Macedonia and Donetsk in Ukraine, and also has the youngest fleet in Turkey, with the average age of the Next-Generation Boeing 737-800s being just 2.40 years.

The World Low Cost Airlines Congress, now in its eighth year, is the biggest and most important event for low-cost carriers with over 400 senior executives from the world’s airlines and partners expected to attend this year.
