ITALY (eTN) – Up until Sunday, November 24, 2013, housed in the setting of the Piazza Solferino, the first edition of the “French Christmas Market” will be held in Turin, Italy. It will be a unique opportunity to immerse in the magical atmosphere of a traditional Christmas village in France where, thanks to the experience and expertise gained at the international level by the operators attending, young and old can enjoy the magic of a French Christmas.
The merchant wood houses will be festively decorated and the scent of wood will be accompanied by the scents and flavors of the Alps woods. Along with a very rich wine assortment and gastronomic food choices, the traditional sweets of Advent will be on hand, as well as many other delicacies for the palate, all strictly of quality French tradition.
There will be over eighty types of cheese available, which can be combined with a wide range of wines from the major wine regions beyond the Alps. For the sweet tooth the “sweet tasting” will rely on Breton cookies proposing over twenty varieties of filling and a large number of chocolates with exquisite tastes, along with the favorite dessert of Kings and Emperors – the macaroons.
A large palette of colors will be represented by the house of spices, and warm baguettes (long bread loafs) and croissants will be baked in the “Boulangerie.” Two spaces will be dedicated to tasting: one for oysters and champagne, the other where choucroute, tartiflette, cassoulet, and barbecues can be tasted steaming hot.
After all the wonderful indulgence at this French Christmas village, one certainly cannot miss the gift items from Provence and the Cote d’Azur, that will include tablecloths, soaps, lavender and essential oils, perfumes, and fashion accessories from Paris. Christmas shopping: fini!
