Pakistan Security Forces have completed the clearance operation at the luxury Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel Gwadar. All three terrorists have been killed. The terroristsโ€™ bodies are being held for identification, reported the Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency while citing official information released by the Pakistan Army.

According to Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, during the operation, five individuals were killed including four hotel employees and a Pakistan Navy soldier. Six individuals got injured including two Army Captains, two Pakistan Navy soldiers, and two hotel employee.

Terrorists had attempted entry into the hotel aimed at targeting and taking hostage the guests present in the hotel. A security guard at the entry challenged the terrorists denying them entry into the main hall. The terrorists then went to a staircase leading to upper floors.

The terrorists opened fire resulting into the death of security guard Zahoor. Enroute to the stairs, the terrorists kept firing indiscriminately, resulting in the death of three more hotel employees – Farhad, Bilawal, and Awais – while two were injured.

Quick Reaction Forces of the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy and local Police immediately reached the hotel, secured guests, and staff present in the hotel and restricted terrorists within the corridor of fourth floor.

After ensuring safe evacuation of all hotel guests and staff, the clearance operation was launched to take on the terrorists. Meanwhile, terrorists had made CCTV cameras dysfunctional and planted IEDs on all entry points leading to the 4th floor. Security Forces made special entry points to get into the 4th floor, shot down all terrorists, and cleared planted IEDS. In the exchange of fire, Pak Navy soldier Abbas Khan embraced Shahadat while 2 Army Captains and 2 Pakistan Navy soldiers were injured.

DG ISPR thanked the media for responsible reporting and coverage of the operation. This actually denied terrorists of possible live updates which facilitated security forces in a smooth execution of the operation.
