BUDAPEST, Hungary – Budapest Airport’s ceaseless route network expansion has seen another link announced, this time to Amsterdam with easyJet.

BUDAPEST, Hungary – Budapest Airport’s ceaseless route network expansion has seen another link announced, this time to Amsterdam with easyJet. Commencing on 6 February 2017, the thrice-weekly service from Hungary’s gateway will provide an additional 500 weekly seats on the direct link to the Dutch capital. With the arrival of the low-cost carrier’s (LCC) service next year, Budapest will offer more than 4,000 weekly seats to Amsterdam.

Commenting on the LCC’s announcement, Balázs Bogáts, Budapest Airport’s Head of Airline Development says: “easyJet’s announcement today is a great addition to our network. While KLM already serves the airport pair, easyJet’s operation will be Budapest’s first low-cost service to Amsterdam, which will target a completely different segment of passenger. The 150,000 annual passenger volume and 26% growth on the route prove that there is high demand between Budapest and Amsterdam.”

From next year, the LCC will operate eight routes from Hungary as the airline’s first route to the Netherlands from Budapest joins existing flights to London Gatwick, Berlin Schönefeld, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Lyon, Basel, Venice Marco Polo and Geneva.
