In order to strengthen even more the partnership between Seychelles and Emirates Airline, a special dinner was organized at Kaa restaurant, in Sao Paulo, on September 9. The event was planned by GVA, the company responsible for marketing and communication strategies for Seychelles in Brazil. In addition to the 22 companies and 26 executives who participated, the event was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Culture of Seychelles, Mr. Alain St. Ange; the General Director of Emirates in Brazil, Mr. Stephane Perard; and the General Consul of UAE in Sao Paulo, Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi.

The dinner was an opportunity to present to the trade industry of Brazil the strong partnership between the African islands and the airline company, that promote flights from Sao Paulo-Dubai-Victoria, the Seychelles capital. At the beginning of operations, Emirates held 3 weekly flights and now flies to Seychelles 2 times a day on a Boeing 777, offering good connections to the island.

From 2010 to 2014, the number of Brazilian visitors increased by 419% in the islands and the data continued growing in 2015. The destination is promoted in Brazil as a paradise and, following the Seychelles slogan, it is another world. The romance is a very strong segment, and due to the diversity of the islands, many people take the opportunity to enjoy activities such as hiking and diving.

To Gisele Abrahzo, director of GVA, the coming of the Minister of Tourism and Culture of Seychelles reinforces the importance of the destination ́s performance in Brazil and the cooperation with Emirates. “It was an incredible opportunity to share with Brazil top operators more details about this partnership with Emirates, which offers great flight options to Brazilian tourists [who[ visit the islands. Our work in GVA is to promote the destination in Brazil, and through the numbers you can see that Seychelles is increasingly in evidence for our audience,” she explained.

During dinner, the Minister of Tourism and Culture of Seychelles, GVA staff, and Emirates Airline had great opportunities to talk to operators such as Anita Fischer Viagens e Turismo, Baritur, CVC, Designer Tours, Flot, Franccatur, Interpoint, Kangaroo Tours, Matuete, MGM, MMT Gapnet, New Age, PrimeTour, Queensberry, Raidho/Sonhos A2, Safari 365, Soft Travel, Teresa Perez, TGK, Top Service, Viagens Master, and Vip’s Turismo.
