For the second week in a row, the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board hosted its famous Fish Fry in a sister island.

This time, it was held on the compound of the District Commissioner’s Office in North Caicos.

Like the Grand Turk Fish Fry, the Twin Islands Fish Fry was a major feature of the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board’s Tourism Environmental Awareness Month (TEAM). After visiting North Caicos’ Charles Hubert James Primary School, Adelaide Oemler Primary School and Raymond Gardiner High School in North Caicos, as well as Middle Caicos’ Doris Robinson Primary School – and providing all of the schoolchildren with gift bags, the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board headed to Bottle Creek, North Caicos to set up for the Twin Islands Fish Fry.

Groups of students from the Charles Hubert James Primary School, Adelaide Oemler Primary School and the Raymond Gardiner High School entertained the crowd with their cultural dances and deejaying while vendors sold local cuisine and handmade crafts.

“We are so pleased with how well the Twin Islands Fish Fry went! Residents of the Twin Islands of all ages showcased their talents today – from dancing to deejaying to culinary arts to craft making”, said TCI Tourist Board’s Training Manager and Coordinator of TEAM, Blythe Clare. “Like the residents of Grand Turk, the residents of the Twin Islands are also asking for another Fish Fry because of how much fun was had and how it brought the community together. And of course, we’re looking at bringing that desire to fruition. A special thank you goes to District Commissioner of North Caicos, Cynclair Musgrove, Debbie Saunders, and all of the participants for making the Twin Islands Fish Fry such a success!” added Clare.

Tourism Environmental Awareness Month events concluded on Tuesday, November 29 with an Open House at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College (TCICC), in collaboration with the TCICC’s tourism students.
