Soneva hotelier now Officer of Order of the British Empire (OBE)

Sonu Shivdasani, Founder and CEO of Soneva luxury eco-resorts in the Maldives and Thailand, honored by King Charles III

Great Britain’s King Charles III honored Sonu Shivdasani, Founder and CEO of Soneva, the trailblazing luxury eco-resorts in the Maldives and Thailand, as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to tourism, sustainability and charity, as part of the King’s New Year Honors 2023 List.

Born in England, Sonu is an alumnus of Eton College and a graduate of Oxford University.

It was during his time at Oxford that he met his Swedish-born wife Eva and together they fell in love with the Maldives.
