ORLANDO, Florida – Skal International Orlando, the second largest Skal Club in the United States and ranked fourth among the top 10 in the world, has been hard at work making headlines in 2014.

Recently, the Skal International Orlando 2014-2015 board of directors got top billing in the Central Florida Business Section of The Orlando Sentinel newspaper, as well as in the Orlando Business Journal’s “People in the News”. Recognition of Member, Dr. Wilfried Iskat for his efforts in establishing and growing the club’s highly successful Young Skal Program (one of the largest in the world) was also covered by eTurbo News online, a widespread online news outlet for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. And the Southwest Orlando Bulletin newspaper featured an article on Skal International Orlando’s $8,000 check presentation to Perry Pavilion at Dr. Philips Hospital, as proceeds from our annual Skal Cares Golf Tournament.

On a monthly basis, the club’s news is now featured in the Brazil Connect Magazine, showcasing synergies and camaraderie between Skal Clubs in Orlando and Brazil and the terrific works of their travel, tourism and hospitality leaders.

Skal International Orlando Young Skal Member Ana Maria Soto has also made headlines in the Skal International Corporate Newsletter through her international endeavors with the Skal Vienna Club while studying there, and through her global leadership with the Young Skal Symposium in Bucharest. Ana Maria has made us all proud as she now prepares for her participation in the World Race Adventures in Missions program, and will be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months to feed the hungry, heal the sick and spread the love of God. She and her team will serve in partnerships with churches and ministries in local communities, work in orphanages, minister to women and children in need and bring the restorative hope of God’s love to many people and nations.

Skal International Orlando proudly distinguishes itself in its local community, nationally and internationally. The club was voted Skal International Club of the Year 2006-2007 and North American Club of the Year in 2007. For more information, go to www.skalorlando.com.
