The Seychelles Tourism Middle East Office and Emirates Holidays recently held a trade presentation with the travel agents in Bahrain just ahead of the summer and Eid breaks.

This event served as timely reminder of the Seychelles as an ideal destination for Middle East and GCC countries residents to spend their holidays, and it was an ideal platform from which to share news of the developments with the newly-opened hotels such as the Savoy Seychelles Resort and Enchanted Island Resort, among others.

A complete educational training program was conducted to ensure that the attending agents have an in-depth knowledge of what the Seychelles as a tourism destination offers as well as how best to sell the Seychelles to their clients.

Additionally, Emirates Holidays presented the special offers to the trade for different properties like Four Seasons Resort, Banyan tree Resort, Constance Ephelia Resort, Hilton Labriz Resort & Spa, Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Coral Strand, Double Tree Allamanda, and Berjaya Beau Vallon Resort based on 4 nights’ accommodation with breakfast, airport transfers, and economy-class airfare.

“Among the GCC markets, Bahrain has ranked number 4 from January to May 2014 which registered an 84% increase in arrivals compared to the same period in January to May 2013. We will organize more activities in Bahrain to further increase the demand,” said Ahmed Fathallah, Regional Manager, Seychelles Tourism Office, Middle East Dubai Office.

Last week, the Tourism Board’s 2014 edition of their annual mid-year marketing review spelled out that the Middle East and all the GCC countries needed to see additional concentration in the field of marketing to entice more traffic from that part of the world from where the Seychelles is served by more daily non-stop direct flights than from anywhere else in the world.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
