MINSK, Belarus – Serbia sees great potential in tourism cooperation with Belarus, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to Belarus Veljko Kovacevic during the presentation of Serbia’s tourism potential in the Embassy of Serbia in Minsk.

The diplomat said he believes that traditionally friendly and brotherly relations develop between Belarus and Serbia. The bilateral ties are particularly important in the context of meetings of leaders of the two countries. The Ambassador noted that the visit of the Serbia president to Minsk had confirmed that Serbia is interested in further advancement of mutually beneficial contacts with Belarus. The negotiations demonstrated that there are no areas that lie outside the scope of Belarus-Serbia cooperation. “In other words, our countries are intent on interacting virtually along all the vectors,” said the diplomat.

The Ambassador also noted that all the prerequisites for raising Belarus-Serbia trade to $500 million or doubling the current trade volume are available.

The Ambassador of Serbia also spoke about bilateral cooperation in tourism. In his opinion, tourism cooperation is underdeveloped for now, however, steps are being taken to bolster this kind of cooperation, including the current presentation of tourism opportunities in Minsk.

Veljko Kovacevic also said that there are plans to advance Belarus-Serbia cooperation in cultural affairs. For instance, plans have been made to arrange Belgrade Days in Minsk and Minsk Days in Belgrade.
