The flights, covering a distance of 4,603 miles, will be operated with an Airbus A330-300 featuring 262 seats.

In a strategic move to bolster its North American presence, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced the launch of a new route connecting Copenhagen and Atlanta.

Commencing on June 17, the airline will operate daily flights during the summer season, utilizing Airbus A330 aircraft. In the winter season, the frequency will be five times a week, with flights operated by Airbus A350 aircraft.

SAS is not only introducing this new route but is also enhancing its existing services between Denmark and North America. The Copenhagen-New York John F. Kennedy International Airport route will see an increase to up to two daily flights. Additionally, the Copenhagen-Boston route will operate daily, up from six times a week, while a fourth weekly flight will be added between Copenhagen and Toronto.

The flights, covering a distance of 4,603 miles, will be operated with an Airbus A330-300 featuring 262 seats. This includes 32 business class seats, 56 premium economy seats, and 174 economy seats. The westbound flight is scheduled for 10 hours, with the eastbound flight taking 9 hours and 20 minutes.

As of now, SAS maintains services from Copenhagen to various destinations in the United States, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, San Francisco, and Washington. The expansion to Atlanta appears to signal growth rather than a replacement for an existing route, as all current routes to the United States remain on sale.

With these strategic expansions, SAS aims to strengthen its foothold in the competitive transatlantic market, offering passengers more options and flexibility in travel between Scandinavia and North America. The new route is poised to cater to both business and leisure travelers, enhancing connectivity and fostering economic ties between the two regions.
