An Indian Air Ambulance plane crashed in Afghanistan killing all 6 on board, including two Russians on its way to Moscow. Taliban is investigating.

According to Afghanistan news agency Pajhwook, an Indian passenger plane has crashed in Badakhshan’s mountainous areas. The news agency is claiming to be the largest in Afghanistan.

According to aviation safety, the plane was an air ambulance registered in Morocco and taking passengers from India to Moscow, Russia.

According to unconfirmed reports the aircraft was owned by an Indian company “Alpha Air“. The Dassault Falcon 10 crashed in the province of Badakhshan due to technical fault, the Aamaj News agency reported

This is matching a report released by the Russian news agency TASS.

The plane owned by Alfa Air with the registration CN-TKN crashed in the mountain region of the Topkana area in Afghanistan Badakkshan province.

The crash killed all 6 passengers, including two Russians and crew on this rescue flight.

Badakhshan Province is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the northeastern part of the country. It is bordered by Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakhshan in the north and the Pakistani regions of Lower and Upper Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan in the southeast.

According to TASS. a representative of the Taliban movement in the Badakhshan province has confirmed to the Khaama Press agency that a group was sent to the region for an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

As reported by the U.S. news agency Reuters, a local police spokesperson said in a statement the crash had taken place overnight in a remote, mountainous region of Badakhshan in Afghanistan’s far north.
