United Airlines has introduced a new flight service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Dominica’s Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM), establishing the second direct flight route from the United States to Dominica. This new service operates on Saturdays, with departures from Newark at 9:10 a.m. EST and arrivals in Dominica at 2:39 p.m. AST, utilizing a Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The return journey departs Dominica at 3:45 p.m. AST, arriving back in Newark at 7:51 p.m. EST.
The inaugural flight was celebrated with a gate event at Newark Liberty International Airport, attended by Dominican dignitaries, local officials, and travelers, all gathered to commemorate the new connection to the Caribbean’s Nature Island. Upon arrival at Douglas-Charles Airport, passengers were welcomed with a water cannon salute and a festive reception from the Discover Dominica Authority and local officials.
