New General Manager named for Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown Convention Center

Scott Ward has been appointed General Manager of Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center, effective immediately. Ward joins the team in Tampa after successfully completing a full renovation of all public space, meeting and guest rooms and lobby at the 376-room DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans located at the base of Canal Street in the heart of New Orleans. In his new post, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 360 all-suite renovated hotel nestled in the heart of Downtown Tampa and connected via sky-bridge to the Tampa Convention Center.

Ward began his hospitality career with Interstate Hotels & Resorts in 1992, holding various positions including rooms’ manager, director of housekeeping and director of front office. From 2003-2009, he worked for Interstate as director of rooms at Westin Atlanta Airport and then general manager of the Crowne Plaza Tampa East. In 2009, he joined Hilton Hotels as resident manager at Hilton Waikoloa Village where he remained until joining the team at Hilton Riverside in 2012 as resident manager, a position he held until 2015 when he was promoted to the helm of DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans.

Ward studied criminal justice at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of NOLA, New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association.
