In line with Movenpick Hotels & Resorts philosophy to contribute to a positive future, this relaxing resort is committed to continuously improve sustainability efforts, social and environmental values have been placed at the center of all actions.

A long-term sustainability management system is in effect at Movenpick Resort El Quseir, energy and water consumption is optimized and monitored on a daily basis. Waste volume, weight, and reduction goals are specified, a comprehensive reuse and recycle policy is in place. The Movenpick Resort El Quseir implemented a pro-active purchasing policy that favors environmentally-friendly products, and external stakeholder communications strategy designed to drive awareness among local partners. Guests are encouraged to minimize their carbon footprint, and those returning more than 10 times, are invited to participate in the resort’s Olive Tree Program through planting an olive tree with their name.

Movenpick Resort El Quseir supports various charitable and sustainable projects in El Quseir city. A donation box for clothes is installed in the public area, and in 2012 a total of 1,610 shirts, 350 blouses, 300 shorts, 150 baby clothes, and 400 pairs of shoes were distributed for Resala Charitable, El Refaei Charitable & El Quseir Church. The resort celebrates Orphan Day with the El Quseir Orphan Shelter, providing meals, clothes, and entertainment for the children during that day. In cooperation with the Resala Social Association, Movenpick Resort El Quseir prepares 25 iftar meals daily, 750 meals during the month of Ramadan.
