Las Vegas: A New Sacred Sanctuary for Buddhists

Buddhists in Las Vegas

A spirital Las Vegas jackpot for resilience and unity is going to the Buddhist community. Money helped, but the new attraction will be sacred and a gathering spot.

With resilience and determination, timeless teachings in Las Vegas can flourish once again.

Guided by compassion, wisdom, and the indomitable spirit of the Buddha, this newly re-created sanctuary of healing and transformation is for all visitors and locals who seek solace and enlightenment.

Inspiring also gamblers to discover the boundless potential within themselves.

The Las Vegas Buddhist Temple was first established in 1989 by the esteemed Abbess Venerable Hui Kuang under the Humanistic Buddhism teachings of Venerable Master Hsing Yun. The original Temple served as a beacon of spiritual guidance and community service in Nevada for over three decades.

Destroyed by a devastating fire in 2019 the Las Vegas Buddhist Temple and Asian Cultural Center will reopen this month. Resilience, unity, and spirit – a strong point of Sin City Las Vegas.

Mr. Newman Arndt and his husband, Mr. Johnathon Arndt, were deeply moved by the enduring influence of the former Temple in May 2021. They were introduced to the Abbess Venerable Hui Kuang, Deputy Abbess Venerable Yin Kin, and Director Venerable Man Jing by dedicated Buddhist disciple Mr. Steven Chow. The Arndts felt a profound inner calling to support the restoration of this sacred sanctuary.

The Las Vegas Buddhist Temple is committed to spreading the Dharma’s wisdom, which reflects the eternal teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha. This sacred place serves as a gathering spot for souls seeking solace, where minds can awaken to the deep truths of Buddhism and lives can be enriched by the serene wisdom of the ages.

Inspired by the Temple’s extensive past and driven to overcome the financial obstacles that impeded its reconstruction, Mr. Newman Arndt and Mr. Johnathon Arndt emerged as contributors and sponsors, encompassing the dual roles of patrons and creators of the fresh Temple.

The new Temple will provide continuous education and inspiration to people worldwide by utilizing advanced technology to share the timeless teachings of Buddhism.

This Center would serve as a vibrant bridge between Eastern and Western cultures, collaborating with a harmonious coexistence among diverse cultures, religions, and generations.

Mr. Newman Arndt and his husband, Mr. Johnathon Arndt, have provided generous funding for the Asian Cultural Center. This center will uphold the long-standing tradition of sharing ancient Buddhist teachings and promoting Asian cultural programs. Moreover, it will prioritize education, philanthropy, and community involvement.

Through collaborations with international universities, the center strives to enhance young individuals’ opportunities to discover and learn about Asian cultures. The educational fund will play a pivotal role in supporting scholarship programs, showcasing the center’s dedication to global progress.

In the spirit of philanthropy, the Asian Cultural Center will support non-profit organizations worldwide, ranging from orphanages, student scholarships, and food banks to animal rescue projects, thus extending its reach beyond local boundaries.

The temple is inviting visitors to experience a transformative journey of Buddhist teachings and Asian culture, right in the nexus of Las Vegas, within the sacred sanctuary that has been reborn with renewed vigor, purpose, and unity.
