The JAL Group today announced international and domestic passenger traffic forecast for the Japanese summer vacation that stretches ten days from August 8 to August 17 this year.

The JAL Group today announced international and domestic passenger traffic forecast for the Japanese summer vacation that stretches ten days from August 8 to August 17 this year.

On international routes, with the expansion of network to/from Tokyo (Haneda), there are currently 257,418 passenger bookings on international JAL Group flights during this period, up 0.7% compared to the same period in previous year, while capacity increased by 2.9%.

Reservations on Transpacific, Oceania, Hawaii and Guam routes are in good shape. JAL SKY SUITE with new seats has been introduced on Europe and North America routes, and its average booking factor is more than 90% which helps the total booking factor go up.

On domestic routes, passenger bookings now stand at 954,896, 1.5% higher than the same period last year, while capacity down by 1.9%. The overall booking factor for domestic JAL Group flights at present is 67.9% that is 2.2 percentage points higher than last year.

During this peak season, JAL will operate 22 chartered flights to destinations in Europe, Cebu, Hawaii and Palau, 6 extra flights to Hawaii and 56 extra flights between Haneda and Okayama, Okinawa as well as Sapporo.
