Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, said “2022 has been a phenomenal year for Grenada and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our travel partners. More than 60 percent of Grenada’s arrivals come from the U.S. and the Northeast, particularly New York City, has been showcasing tremendous numbers. We are proud of the collaborative work we have done, and we look forward to growing that number with you in 2023.”

Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) hosted an intimate dinner in New York City to give thanks to its valued partners. The gathering of media, travel advisors and tour operators was held at Allora Ristorante in midtown Manhattan.

2022 was a busy year for the destination. The GTA launched its Grenada Travel Expert Program, an e-learning program that allows the travel agent community to acquire the knowledge necessary to become an expert in selling the destination. In addition, the GTA introduced its Simple Stays Grenada program, which offers visitors access to the destination’s smaller, more intimate properties. The island’s beloved Spice Mas returned this year, and the destination increased air capacity and returned service with a number of its airline partners including American Airlines, Air Canada, Caribbean Airlines, JetBlue, and Sunwing.

Randall Dolland, Chairman of the Grenada Tourism Authority, weighed in on the significance of Grenada’s travel partners, stating “Grenada’s tourism arrivals are trending in the right direction, and we know that’s a result of your efforts. Thank you for your commitment to the destination. We expect 2023 will be even better as we expand our tourism offerings with new hotels openings and exciting attractions. We’re excited about what’s to come and growing our relationship with each of you.”

The emcees for the evening were Christine Noel-Horsford, Director of Sales, USA, and Shanai St. Bernard, Marketing Manager, Grenada Tourism Authority. The duo shared warm greetings and handed out appreciation awards, which were accepted by:

  • Mr. Carl Stuart, Sales Executive, Caribbean Airlines
  • Ms. Heidi Gallo, Sales Manager, East Coast, Calabash
