The five-star Corinthia Hotel Lisbon had the honor of hosting Sheika Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah during her recent visit to Portugal to attend the 450th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Évora in Portugal.

The sister of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is chairperson of the Supreme Committee of the Ideal Mother Award and is known for her commitment to women’s rights, the protection of children and the dialogue between civilizations, including dialogue between religions.

Sheikha Fariha was received by the Archbishop of Évora, Portugal, with whom she discussed bilateral relations and ways to boost them. She also inaugurated the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Arab-Islamic Studies Center and visited the grand library for Arab and Islamic studies.

During her visit, Sheika Fariha Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also met and was hosted to lunch by the First Lady of Portugal, Dra. Maria Cavaco Silva and had a meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Luís Amado.
