Barbados Tourism looking for new CEO

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the BTMI as the primary tourism marketing agency for Barbados.
  • Drive the development and implementation of sustainable strategies to increase the value of tourism to Barbados.
  • Develop the business planning process for Barbados to effectively address government policy objectives and drive economic growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate new revenue streams, partnerships and commercial opportunities for the organization.
  • Advise Government on tourism related issues, as required and define strategies, priorities and objectives to enable its mandate from government.
  • Provide advice to the Board of Directors on policy issues, plans, and progress and, to collaborate with public and private sector partners on strategic issues relating to tourism.
  • Facilitate and develop the annual marketing plan to identify optimum opportunities for delivery of strategic objectives.

Key Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years professional experience at a senior executive management level in tourism and business development.
  • Experienced at building revenue streams and with a strong track record of commercial success.
  • Practical marketing experience is a requirement.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • An understanding of working collaboratively with government agencies would be an asset.
  • A Masters’ degree level qualification in Tourism, Business, Marketing, Business Strategy or related discipline.
  • Certification in project management would be an asset.
