American Express appoints new vice president and general manager

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) today announced the appointment of Florian Storp as Vice President and General Manager for Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe. In this role, Mr.

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) today announced the appointment of Florian Storp as Vice President and General Manager for Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe. In this role, Mr. Storp will take overall responsibility for GBT’s strategy, business development and customer relationships across these countries and region. Mr. Storp will report to Elyes Mrad, Managing Director, GBT EMEA.

Mr. Storp joins GBT from travel management company, Egencia, where he was Managing Director, Germany, since 2007. Prior to this, he held the position of Business Development Director at Expedia. Mr. Storp also previously spent several years at American Express, primarily dedicated to senior sales and business development roles within corporate travel.

“Florian has demonstrated exceptional skill in developing businesses and leading successful teams within the corporate travel industry,” said Mr. Mrad. “I’m delighted to have someone with his experience and dedication at the helm of our business in Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe, and have no doubt his extensive local expertise and customer-centric approach will make him an asset to American Express Global Business Travel’s overall leadership team in EMEA.”

Mr. Storp will commence his new role at GBT in March 2016 and will be based in Frankfurt.
