INDIA (eTN) – The Indian aviation scene is going through exciting times.

INDIA (eTN) – The Indian aviation scene is going through exciting times.

New entrants are set to enter the field while existing ones, like Jet-Etihad, will see some serious action to improve matters on the ground and in the sky.

Tata Singapore Airlines is set to take off by 2015, and more will be heard on the Air Asia India venture soon.

But what is exciting the market right now is the news that as many as 6 new entities have been given the vital no objection certificate to start a new airline. When, if, and how they take off will be watched with interest by all, especially since the impact will be felt on fares and capacity also.

The new names in the horizon are Air One, Premier Air, Zexus Air, Turbo Megha, Air Carnival, and Zav Airways.

India has 8 airlines at present, not all in the pink of health, but with plans for a rosier future.
