New GM for new Guam Dusit Thani Resort

An accomplished hotelier, Mr. Dean Huntsman is joining the Dusit International team with over twenty years’ experience in the hospitality field.

An accomplished hotelier, Mr. Dean Huntsman is joining the Dusit International team with over twenty years’ experience in the hospitality field. He will be the new General Manager for Dusit Thani Guam Resort.

This new resort is the first deluxe resort to open on Guam in over ten years. Mr. Huntsman bring work experience from previous positions held at the Jumeirah Group as Director of Operations followed by a stint as Hotel Manager of the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel in New York City.

Prior to joining the Jumeirah Group, he spent over fifteen years with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Rooms Division and Sales and Marketing roles in locations including Guam, Oman, Indonesia, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Australia.

Scheduled for Q3/14 opening, the highly-anticipated beachside resort boasts 417 guest rooms over 30 floors and a host of world-class facilities, including restaurants, bars and Guam’s largest convention center.

“We are extremely pleased to have Dean Huntsman join the Dusit team,” says Dusit International Vice President of Operations, Mr. Jiri Kobos. “Dean possesses a solid operations and sales and marketing background and we are confident that under his direction, Dusit Thani Guam Resort will become the market leader on the island.”

A dual national of the United States and Australia, Mr. Huntsman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management from Les Roches Hotel Management School, Switzerland.
