LONDON, England – An elderly tourist is still missing two days after the sliding doors of a London Underground train separated him from his son.

LONDON, England – An elderly tourist is still missing two days after the sliding doors of a London Underground train separated him from his son.

The Romanian man, Vasile Belea, 63, was left behind on the platform at Stockwell Tube station in south London at around 10am on Tuesday.

He was about to board a Victoria line train towards central London with his son before the doors split the pair up and Mr Belea was left standing on the platform.

Officer Richard Owen, from Sutton’s Missing Persons Unit, said Mr Belea, who has limited English, had come over to enjoy Christmas with his son.

He believes Mr Belea might have got on the following train or tried to return to Hackbridge, Sutton, where he had been staying at his son’s home.

He is not carrying any medication for his arthritis and has an iPhone but without a SIM card.

“He is described as 6ft tall with grey hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a long dark black jacket and a black flat cap,” a police spokesman said.
