BONITO, Brazil – Bonito, a city located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul (Midwest Brazil), will be the meeting point for the 8th Annual World Conference on Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism taking place in 2014.

With its notorious caves, vast flora and fauna and natural pools of crystal clear water, it is no coincidence that the name of this city translates to “beautiful” in Portuguese. This will be the perfect setting in the effort to unite and inspire 500 tourism professionals from various countries around the world attending the conference.

For Flavio Dino, president of Embratur, it is essential not only to showcase Brazil as a popular tourism destination, but also to highlight its vast sustainable tourism options. “We have hundreds, if not thousands of attractions and products closely related to sustainable tourism; the Amazon, Pantanal, the Mid-West, from the hills to the coast, from North to South, the country, is filled with options that put Brazil as a protagonist in this stage,” said Dino.

Sustainable tourism welcome visitors, all while making a low impact on natural resources and local culture. It produces the most organic experience for guests looking to explore Brazil’s natural beauty.
