A number of people are reportedly trapped in the wreckage. According to an update received by BBC 7, casualties are reported.

M&D’s is an amusement park located in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Bordering on Strathclyde Park, the park contains five rollercoasters and two water rides among others, as well as an arcade, theatre, ten-pin bowling, and indoor reptile house – Amazonia.

Eyewitnesses told the local Mirror newspaper that around 8 to 10 people were onboard the rollercoaster carriage when it derailed, dropping some 30 feet (10 meters) to the ground.
