German-Turkish carrier SunExpress has appointed AVIAREPS as its representative in France. The international service provider for airlines and tourism companies will act as General Sales Agent (GSA) in this market and will also carry out its existing representative role in the Netherlands. The AVIAREPS subsidiary, in the heart of Paris, will handle all seat-only sales and ticketing activities for SunExpress. Assuming responsibility for successful operation in the French market will be Jean-Michel Bohn, general manager of AVIAREPS France.

For passengers in France, SunExpress offers two weekly connections between Paris (CDG) and Izmir, the third most populous city of Turkey near the Aegean Sea. These scheduled flights, starting each Monday and Saturday with a spacious Boeing 737-800, take about three and a half hours. In addition, SunExpress provides regular international flights from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden to Turkey.

SunExpress was founded in 1989 as a joint venture agreement between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, initially serving the Turkish tourism sector with charter flights. With its Antalya-Frankfurt flight in 2001, the carrier became the first private airline to offer international scheduled flights from Turkey. The company further expanded its international network with its Izmir-based flights, which started in 2005. SunExpress offers scheduled flights to major cities in Germany and passengers can fly to various European metropolises by using connections with Lufthansa. The airline now serves a total of 15 domestic and 30 international destinations, transporting over three million passengers each year.
