Alfred Pisani, Founder and Group Chairman, Corinthia Hotels, was presented with the prestigious Leading Edge Award by the editors of American Express Publishing’s Executive Travel magazine in recognition of Corinthia Hotels’ leadership within the five-star hotels’ collection of properties. The annual Leading Edge Awards Editors’ Pick acknowledges industry leaders that are taking business travel in new directions, changing the way that executives experience travel.
Janet Libert, Editor in Chief, Executive Travel, praised Corinthia Hotels’ passion for combining historic restoration and dynamic modern design in its July/August 2011 issue, noting that “the Corinthia Hotels properties – which are located in London, St. Petersburg, Tripoli, Budapest, Lisbon, Prague, and Malta – highlight local architecture and cultural traditions.” Libert added that “more and more, business travelers want to experience their destinations fully, and the hospitality industry has begun to respond with distinctive properties that give guests a truly indigenous experience.”
The presentation of the Award by Ms. Libert and the Executive Travel team took place recently in New York City when Mr. Pisani was in town to introduce the “The Seven Penthouses of Corinthia London.”

The announcement of The Leading Edge Award followed the recent launch of Corinthia Hotel London’s collection of seven penthouse suites. General Manager Matthew Dixon, who joined Mr. Pisani at the award presentation in New York, noted “our spectacular collection of two-story penthouses at Corinthia Hotel London heralds a new era of luxury accommodation for the city. With only a small handful of existing top tier suites in the major hotels of London, the penthouses are expected to transform the city’s luxury market, setting new standards for the hospitality world.
