The Department of Industry and Trade of the Government of Colombia announced new regulation, banning the work of Uber in the country.

It is reported that the agency supported the local taxi operator Cotech, saying that Uber is causing an outflow of the clientele of taxi fleets and competition rules violation.

Uber claims to have 2 million clients and 88,000 drivers in Colombia.

New decree of the Department of Industry and Trade comes into effect immediately.

According to local media, Uber has appealed to the Supreme Court of Colombia.

Earlier, Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a ban on the activities of the American company Uber in Turkey.

Uber was also forced to cease operations in Bulgaria, Denmark and Hungary.
