Dedeman Hotels and Resorts International has acquired 3 new hotels in Syria. With these new additions, the renowned Turkish Hotel chain, has increased its number of hotels to 22, with 4800 rooms and 9000 beds.
The hotels which are located in Damascus, Aleppo and Palmyra were inaugurated with a ceremony held at Damascus Dedeman Hotel on May 16th 2009 with the participation of the President of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Abdullah Gül, the Minister of Tourism of the Syrian Arab Republic H.E Dr. Saadalla Agha Al Kalaa and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey H.E Ertuğrul Günay on May 16th, 2009.
During his opening speech the Chairman of Dedeman Group of Companies Mr. Murat Dedeman, said; `Our aim is to reach 50 hotels by our 50th year. I must say that we are approaching this goal consistently. I would like to remind you that 15 of these hotels will be out of Turkey. At present, we are trying to spread the Turkish and Dedeman Hospitality to the world with our 7 hotels abroad and 15 hotels in Turkey in total with our 22 hotels, 4800 rooms and 9000 beds capacity. When I say 50 hotels, I would like to point out that we are giving priority to the countries where we have common history ties and is in our neighborhood. According to this aim, we are so glad to be in Syria where Turkey converged in economic and friendly ties in the recent years
