LOS ANGELES, California – The Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi is an InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) property well known in Sao Paulo for its professional and friendly services. Located next to Campo de Marte Airport in Brazil, the hotel is the best option for business travelers or leisure seekers. Financial and business institutions as well as museums and independent art spaces, shops and restaurants are all within easy reach.

Green Globe recently certified Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi for the third year in a row.

The hotel is acknowledged for its sustainable practices and CSR actions in the community. One of the most outstanding achievements in the last year made by the hotel was the replacement of 660 lamps with energy efficient LED lighting in over 19 function rooms and public areas. This change contributed to an overall reduction in energy consumption by 6.35% from the previous year.

Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi also launched new initiatives to target waste management. A campaign focused on collecting materials to recycle such as empty packages, used tubes of toothpaste, cleaning sponges and office supplies. Items collected were sent to a recycling company and the money raised was donated to charitable foundations that help poor people, the elderly and children. In total, R$ 33,616.94 was donated to underprivileged people in the community.

This year a new Green Menu was created for events held at the hotel. The special menu promotes sustainability through gastronomy and is directly related to saving energy, water and the reduction of waste. Meals use regional, seasonal produce as ingredients to highlight Brazilian flavors and cuisine. The initiative aims to provide clients with a unique cultural experience and stimulate interest in environmental causes.

In line with its social responsibilities, Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi works with the YCI – Youth Career Initiative program offering professional training in hospitality to young people with limited socio-economic opportunities. Students take part in on the job training in various departments with the possibility of gaining employment within the hotel industry or other sectors. To date more than 60 students trained at IHG properties have found work. Earlier this year, YCI won the WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow Award 2016 in the People Award category and thanked the property for its commitment in supporting this initiative.
