From November, Britons will be able to fly return to Belize City without an overnight connection in the US or Mexico, making this Central American destination more accessible for the first time.

Launching on 4th November 2016, in conjunction with the start of Belize’s high visitor season, new outbound flights will operate four days a week on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday while new inbound flights will operate daily. Both will fly all year round.

American Airlines will introduce new afternoon outbound flights departing from London Heathrow (LHR), with a few hours’ connection in Miami (MIA) onto Belize City (BZE), as well as new morning and midday inbound flights, again connecting for just a few hours in Miami.

These new flight times will complement American Airlines’ existing services, which fly daily via Miami (MIA), Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Charlotte (CLT) and Los Angeles (LAX).

The Belize Tourism Board welcomes these more direct flights, which will make Belize more accessible to a growing UK market. In 2015, Belize saw 12,650 UK visitors – an 11.4% increase on visitor numbers from 2014 – and expects to see this figure increase following the introduction of these additional flights.
