MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – A challenge by newly appointed Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett for Jamaicans to invest in the development of the industry by growing tours and attractions, was met with support when the minister met with players from the attractions sub-sector recently at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

The Minister’s vision of growth in tourism and Jamaicans taking ownership of the industry was also well received by those in attendance.

Minister Bartlett discussed details of his vision with General Manager of Island Routes, David Shields; Tour Operator, Tours of Historic Falmouth by Trolley, Judy Schoenbein, and Peppy Grant of Hampden Tours.

Mr. Bartlett, who is doing a second tour of duty as Tourism Minister also met with stakeholders from the ground transportation and the craft sub-sectors and heard their concerns.
