Mancham specially honored by ECPD on publication of Serbian edition of his last book

Following the meeting of the Educational and Scientific Board of European Center for Peace and Development (ECPD) at the Center’s headquarter in Belgrade, on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Seychelles Founding President Sir James Richard Marie Mancham, has been notified that “in recognition of his exceptional and dedicated contribution to Peace, Reconciliation, Religious Tolerance, Rational Harmony and Human Rights in the Balkan and around the world” that he has been awarded a testimonial that will be presented to him on Saturday, October 24, at a special ceremony in the City Hall of Belgrade, Serbia.

The ceremony will follow a special launching of a Serbian edition of Sir James’s recent book – “SEYCHELLES – The saga of a small nation navigating the crosscurrents of a big world” under the Serbian title of “Sejseli – Saga o malom narodu koji plovi uzburkanim vodama velikog sveta”. The book is published by the ECPD UN University for Peace.

Sir James is actually in Belgrade to co-chair the 11th ECPD International conference on “Future of the world between globalization and regionalization,” alongside Prof. Erhard Busek – former Vice-Chancellor of Austria and Special Co-ordinator of Stability Pact for South and Eastern Europe. Several accomplished European, Japanese and American Academicians and Diplomats are attending this conference, including Prof. Dr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, former Director-General of UNESCO; Dr. Prof. Akio Kawato, President of the ECPD Council; Prof. Dr. Pasquale Baldocci – Prof. of the Faculty for Diplomacy of Goriza, Italy; Prof. Dr. Slavica Djukic Dejanovic – President of the Board of Health and Family of the Parliament of Serbia; Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wolte of the Austrian Society for European Policy; Prof. Dr. Don Wallace of Georgetown University, Washington DC, President of ECPD Academic Council and Prof. Dr. Negoslav Ostojic, ECPD Executive Director.

Sir James has been invited to deliver the Welcome Address at the opening ceremony, following the opening address by Prof. Akio Kawato, President of ECPD Council. He will be followed by Prof. Dr. Erhard Busek who will be the keynote speaker of the conference.

Sir James will leave Belgrade on Sunday for Madrid, where he will be participating in a high level dialogue on “Violence and Extremism in today’s world, which is being hosted by Le Club de Madrid – an organization which is made up of over 70 former Presidents and Prime Ministers of Democratic nations. Sir James was elected to this exclusive Club 3 years ago in 2012.
