WTTC hired former PATA CEO Liz Ortiguera

Lis Ortiguera

With the former PATA CEO joining as the Pacific Asia Advisor to WTTC it appears the two organizations are now in competition.

Singapore native Liz Ortiguera was only CEO of the Bangkok-based Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) for about ten months when she left the organization after an unexplained lawsuit and settlement.

A new CEO at PATA has not been announced yet but was just decided on.

eTurboNews recently mentioned on eTurboNews two days ago, Liz and Julian attended the G20 in Goa, where a renewed but more cynical announcement about cooperation between WTTC and UNWTO was made.

As one of the rumors floating around in Goa, the former PATA CEO will join the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as a managing director for Asia-Pacific and a senior advisor to the CEO, Julia Simpson.

Julia Simpson and Liz Ortiguera have been the center of speculation and controversy in global travel and tourism.

WTTC and UNWTO Unite to Drive Travel and Tourism
The MOU was signed by WTTC President & CEO Julia Simpson and UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili.

WTTC has been in the spotlight of controversy recently after some key members left the organization over the election process of the chairman and a possible conflict of interest for a global organization.
