Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture and President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands, arrived in Comores Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport this morning and was met at the airport by Minister Bahiat Massoundi, the Comoros Minister responsible for Post Offices, Telecommunication, new Information Technology, Communication, Transport and Tourism; Madame Kalathoune Mahamoud, the representative in the Ministry responsible for Transport and Tourism; and Madame Hissane Guy, the President of the National Tourist Office of Comoros; and an important delegation from the Department of Tourism of the Comoros.

The Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands (Comores, La Reunion, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritius, Mayotte, and the Seychelles) are meeting this week in Comores.

The agenda items for this Comores meeting is set to analyze actions already implemented in 2013 which includes the roadshow undertaken in South Africa, participation in the World Travel Market in London, the MOU signed with Constance Group of Hotels, the MOU signed with Air Madagascar, the ongoing partnership developed with the Indian Ocean Times, and the launch of the organization’s Facebook page.

The meeting will also look at proposed actions for 2014 and the organization’s budget. Here it is expected that the inter-island meeting will be spending time planning the launch of the organization’s web site and also look at the proposed action plan for the organization as was received from member states among other organizational matters.

The venue for the next ministerial meeting of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands will also be discussed, as well as the question on who will the candidates will be for the 2014 elections for the presidency when Alain St.Ange will step down after serving a two-term mandate.
