Seychelles tourism team heads to La Reunion for Air Access Meeting

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, accompanied by Elsia Grandcourt, his Deputy, leaves Seychelles this morning for La Reunion enroute to Mauritius for a Vanilla Islands Air Access Meeting.

The Mauritius meeting will see the participation of Seychelles, La Reunion, Madagascar, and Comores alongside Mauritius, the host country for the meeting.

The Seychelles delegation will also see the participation of Cindy Vidot from Air Seychelles.

“It is important that we relook at air access between the islands of the Indian Ocean, these Vanilla Islands, if the marketing of the brand of Vanilla Islands is to be successful. We are not linked enough as we are today, and this limits the potential of twin-center island holidays among ourselves,” said Alain St.Ange, who is personally heading the Seychelles delegation to this Mauritius meeting.

It is now known that Mauritius will be having Minister Nando Bodha as head of their delegation, and La Reunion will be represented by Mr. Didier Robert, le President de La Region. The Madagascar delegation on their part is being headed by Joël Randriamandranto, the Chairman of Madagascar Tourism.

Representatives of all airlines flying to all the Indian Ocean islands have been invited, and many have now confirmed their participation and will hear introductory remarks from heads of delegations from each participating islands.

The Seychelles delegation will be holding meetings with the La Reunion government when transiting in La Reunion. These will include a meeting with Mr. Didier Robert, where a gift from President James Michel will be presented to Mr. Robert.
