Seychelles provides stunning backdrop for US TV shows

Television personality Ashley Colburn arrived in Seychelles on May 9 for a 6-day trip to film on the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, Desroches, and also the services of Select Seychelles.

Television personality Ashley Colburn arrived in Seychelles on May 9 for a 6-day trip to film on the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, Desroches, and also the services of Select Seychelles.

Ashley, TV host of travel shows, “Take Off with Ashley” and “Private Island,” was in Seychelles with cameraman Joshua Middleton for Wealth TV based in San Diego, Calfornia.

“Take off with Ashley” is being shot in 3D and will be viewed by over 10 million homes raccross the USA.

At a lunch at the Takamaka Rum Distilleries & Restaurant at La Plaine St. Andre with Richard D’Offay, the Director of the Takamaka; Dave Boulle, his distilling specialist; and Freedy Karkatia, the MD of Select Seychelles; Ashley Colburn conducted an interview with Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board. The interview centered on the successes of the Seychelles brand of tourism that was launched as the vision of the Seychelles President Mr. James Michel. The unique selling points of Seychelles were brought out, and the new drive to showcase the diversity of the islands to the world were discussed.

Alain St.Ange said after the interview that he felt comfortable with the interview, which should go a long way in giving Seychelles visibility in the USA. “Today, the private islands of the Seychelles are making news all over the world. These two television shows will bring the beauty of our islands to the large potential market of the USA,” Alain St.Ange said.

At the lunch at La Plaine St. Andre, Ashley Colburn said that she just loved the Seychelles and understood why celebreties choose Seychelles for their holidays. With the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Ashley Colburn is discussing a second visit to the Seychelles to cover the 2012 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria,” which will be held from March 2-4, 2012.
