Massive 7.5 Quake Strikes Taiwan

A massive 7.5 earthquake just struck in the vicinity of Taiwan in Shoufeng.

The quake struck at 4:45 pm PDT 18 km SSW of Huelein City.

This was almost immediately followed by a huge aftershock at 6.6.

A tsunami warning has been issued for Okinawa. Japan has issued an evacuation advisory the coastal areas of the Okinawa southern prefecture. The Japan Meteorological Agency is expecting the tsunami to be up to 3 meters and will reach the coast around 10:00 am (0100 GMT). There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.

This post will be updated as information is received.

Reports and a video are coming in that multiple buildings have collapsed.
