90.18% of Catalonia referendum participants voted for independence

Catalonian officials said Friday the final data on the independence referendum held on Sunday show that a total of 90.18 percent of participants voted in favor of independence from Spain.

The voter turnout stood at 43.03 percent.

The head of the Catalan government Carles Puigdemont is expected to make a speech on the referendum results and the next moves at the region’s parliament on Tuesday.
