Finland hotels see increase in tourists

The number of foreign travelers to Finland recorded nights increased 2.4 percent annually to around 1.3 million in November.

Tourist overnight stays in Finnish accommodation establishments increased in November from last year, preliminary data released by Statistics Finland showed Thursday.

Overnight stays by foreign tourists climbed 7.2 percent year-on-year to around 381,500, and the number of nights spent by resident tourists moved up 0.6 percent.

During the January-November period, total tourist overnight stays decreased 0.5 percent annually to 18.9 million. Stays by local tourists dropped 0.9 percent during the eleven-month period, while those by foreigners increased 0.8 percent.
