The “Oscars of the Travel Industry” has arrived in the Maldives for what promises to be a glittering Gala Ceremony at Paradise Island Resort & Spa on May 12, 2013.

Internationally recognized performers will entertain a 300 strong audience of Travel Industry professionals alongside celebrities and Government dignitaries, as the elite in the Tourism landscape of the Indian Ocean gather to find out who has won a prestigious World Travel Award. The event has been made possible by a collaboration between World Travel Awards and Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation, Lets Go Maldives, SriLankan Airlines, Azidon and the Paradise Island Resort & Spa, part of the Villa Group.

World Travel Awards celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year, and the Gala Ceremony in the Maldives is a first, celebrating the 40th year of Tourism promotion in the Maldives. The World Grand Tour will see Awards presented across 5 continents culminating in the Grand Finale at the end of 2013.
