The only non-stop air service between Sao Paulo, Brazil and Los Angeles International Airport begins today as Korean Air launches its three times a week flights with three classes.
The airline is operating Monday, Wednesday and Friday flights from LAX to Sao Paulo (GRU) using Boeing 777-200 aircraft outfitted with lie-flat sleeper seats in premium classes and on-demand movies and music throughout the aircraft. The flights depart LAX at 7:30 p.m. and arrive in Sao Paulo at 11:00 a.m. the next morning. The return flight on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaves Sao Paulo at 1:30 p.m. and arrives at LAX at 9:30 p.m. the same day.
“Korean Air’s non-stop flight between LAX and Sao Paulo is a key route for people who want to conduct business in South America’s largest city,” says John Jackson, Korean Air’s Director of Sales and Marketing for the Americas. “Korean Air already offers the best options for travel to Asia, but we’re also a global airline that now provides passenger and cargo service between Los Angeles and Sao Paulo that no other company has the scope to do.”
Sao Paulo is the largest and most populous city in South America with a population of more than 10 million. Korean Air is the only airline with non-stop service between Los Angeles and Brazil.
Korean Air is the largest transpacific passenger carrier out of Los Angeles, and flies from more cities in the Americas to more cities in Asia than any other airline in the world. According to the Los Angeles Mayor’s office, this new service will provide an important connection between Asia and Brazil that could generate a significant positive economic impact on the Southern California economy.
