SINGAPORE – Renowned in the industry for her revenue management expertise, Jane Suporn has joined Meritus Hotels & Resorts (MHR) as its vice president of revenue and strategy. Her most recent position was with the Marco Polo Hotels in Hong Kong where she was group director of revenue management from 2007 to mid-2010.

In this capacity, she introduced the group to revenue management and distribution culture and practices, and effectively rolled out strategies in 11 hotels across 7 destinations in Hong Kong, China, and the Philippines. Under her leadership of Marco Polo Hotels’ revenue and central reservations teams, she consistently catapulted the group’s flagship hotels in Hong Kong to its no. 1 RGI position. She also pioneered the group’s migration to a new reservations system.

Prior to her appointment in Hong Kong, Jane held a cluster role as director of
revenue management for InterContinental Hotels Group, primarily overseeing the
consolidated reservations team of the InterContinental Bangkok and Holiday Inn
Bangkok, as well as the responsibility of setting up the revenue management
team and systems for Holiday Inn Chiangmai after its re-branding from Sheraton
Chiangmai.

Jane started her career in the hospitality industry with the Sheraton Grande
Sukhumvit Bangkok in Thailand where she originally hails from. She moved on to
join the pre-opening team of Conrad Bangkok as director of revenue
management, before moving to Australia to take on the challenging task of
driving revenue management for 3 Starwood properties in Sydney – to include
Sheraton On The Park, Four Points Darling Harbour, and W Hotel Sydney.

She holds a masters degree in commerce with a major in marketing from the
University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Jane completed her revenue
management studies with distinction at the InterContinental Hotels Group
Revenue Academy in Malaysia and earned her diploma in the same discipline
from the Hilton Hotels Revenue Management University in New Jersey, USA. She
also holds a certificate in revenue management from Cornell University, New
York, USA, and is currently completing her doctorate in hotel and tourism
management.

As vice president for revenue and strategy, she will be responsible for driving
effective rate and distribution strategies and streamlining reservations processes of all hotels under the MHR portfolio to maximize each hotel’s revenue potential.

“I am confident Jane’s expertise and contribution will prove invaluable,
particularly as we move forward with our expansion strategies,” commented Mr.
Michael Sengol, chief executive officer of MHR.
