The soon to be unveiled national tourism policy in India is expected to have provision of single window clearance for organizing conferences and meetings in the country.

This was revealed on Sept 14 by Satyajeet Rajan, Director General, Tourism, Government of India, who has recently taken up the post.

Rajan was speaking at a three day event to promote MICE, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A knowledge paper on the subject was also released on the occasion, listing six points to develop this segment of tourism. Time-bound action plan is important, the paper said.

ICPB, Government of Maharashtra are among the stakeholders.
