German Chancellor Merkel caught singing, dancing and drinking at Russian New Year’s party

Forget tension between the EU and Russia, between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Everything goes at a good Russian New Year’s party.

Merkel says she came to Russia to have some rest. Her version of rest is lots of food, alcohol, dancing and singing as it becomes obvious at the “Blue Light” party. This TV party is one of the most-watched Russian New Year’s party TV shows.

You can detect the chancellor gained a little weight – she obviously loved Russian food – and there is plenty at every New Year’s party in Mother Russia.

Warm vodka and lots of ice cold champagne made the German chancellor at this Moscow New Year’s party dance and sing. She truly became a very special surprise guest – and everyone in Russia loved it.

You may see relations between the two countries improve quickly. If it was up to the most powerful woman in the world, Angela Merkel, also relations between the East and the West should improve.

The Merkel impersonator Yuriy Stoyanov is a famous comedian in Russia. It’s to be hoped this scene will in fact improve relations between Russia and Germany before President Putin becomes the star at the next German New Year’s show in Berlin 2016/17. After all, Merkel speaks fluent Russian, and Putin speaks fluent German.
