Would Alaska and Hawaiian Air Merger Bring $1 Billion Profit?

Alaska Air Group, Inc. is set to conduct its previously scheduled 2024 Investor Day at 1 p.m. Eastern time today in New York City. This event marks the company’s inaugural presentation following the acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, during which it will introduce Alaska Accelerate.

This initiative outlines the strategic vision for the merged entity, detailing plans to enhance commercial performance, meet medium-term financial objectives, and facilitate substantial value creation moving forward.

Alaska Accelerate has been designed to fulfill the unified vision of the airline in providing guests with a remarkable travel experience that emphasizes safety, care, and performance while connecting them to the world. Substantial investments in the commercial sector are set to advance the company’s objectives.

The commercial organization, with input from network, product, loyalty, and cargo divisions, is anticipated to be the primary driver of the expected profit growth over the next three years, facilitating an additional $800 million in revenue.
