Frankfurt Airport has become the first air hub in the world to implement walkthrough scanners for passenger security checks on a regular basis. After a testing period of approximately one year at Concourse A in Terminal 1, the German Federal Police have granted approval for the comprehensive deployment of the Rohde & Schwarz QPS Walk2000 air travel security system. This system enhances the comfort and convenience of security checks, allowing travelers to walk through the scanner at a normal pace rather than having to remain still in an uncomfortable position.
Currently, around 18,000 departing passengers pass through this checkpoint each day. Looking ahead, there are plans to expand the use of this technology to additional security lanes in Terminal 1 and to introduce it in the upcoming Terminal 3.
