US Travel Agents: $7.2 Billion in Air Ticket Sales in November

Today, Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) reported that air ticket sales by US travel agencies for November 2024 amounted to $7.2 billion, marking a 7% increase compared to the previous year. The total number of passenger trips in November reached 20.6 million, which represents a 1.1% rise year-over-year. Additionally, the average ticket price saw a modest increase from November 2023, reaching $576, largely due to a rise in international travel.

November’s air travel statistics indicate that U.S. travelers are increasingly favoring international destinations, reflecting a year-over-year growth trend. The leisure travel sector remains robust, as consumers continue to allocate their discretionary spending towards travel.

In November 2024, the monthly New Distribution Capability (NDC) transactions reported by ARC reached 20.1%, marking a 10.9% increase compared to the previous year. During this month, 798 travel agencies engaged in NDC transactions. Additionally, the number of airlines involved in ARC’s Direct Connect program rose to 35.
